As promised, here are pics of the cars we went to see the other day. TL;DR these belonged to a very dear friend of my boss who died about 5 years ago. I don’t think they’ve run in at least 20 years. His widow is selling the house and they need to go; we’re trying to help her figure out what to do with them. She knows what she has.

Your own personal pullman car.

Ran when parked. There’s still oil visible inside the valve covers, so there’s probably hope for it.

dat distributor tho!

Some assembly required. After you buzz off all the rust and hope you can get the pistons out.

Nah, stick a modern enough engine underneath there and run that .

Then again, it is a vintage V12.

Woah, such elegance in those designs. But whenever I see cars of that era I’m reminded just how simple and uncluttered their dashes are. Compare that to what the dash might look like in a luxury car from 15  years later and it’s a huge difference.

Shame the Packard’s engine was left like that. At least it looks like the two of them would clean up cosmetically just fine, and I’m sure the Cadillac would run again (those things are worth too much money not to, what ever’s wrong, just keep throwing cash at it till its fixed).

I bet it wouldn’t take that much. Clean up the fuel system, probably all new rubber,  get everything freed up so it turns.  Turn the key, it should start, right???

And yes cosmetically they’re in good survivor condition. Nobody knows if they’ve been restored before, but my boss remembers them being very clean and oft driven  back in the day (probably the 80s) . There’s some peeling paint but not awful. Interiors are potentially quite good with minimal wear or rodent damage.
